Liberty Leisure Trophy Gala – Saturday 10th June 2017 (Formerly Broxtowe Trophy Gala)

The annual Liberty Leisure Trophy Gala took place at Bramcote on Saturday 10th June. As usual the teams consisted of Bramcote SC, Kimberley SC and Liberty Leisure Swim School; with City of Derby also competing.

The aim of the gala is to provide (extra) competition experience to ‘novice’ swimmers at ages 8-13; but by no means was it any less competitive!

Congratulations to Ben M, Joseph, Ferne, Breanna, Amy, Marzena, Anna, Drew, Tara and Sofia who competed in their first gala representing Bramcote SC!

During a very close night of racing, with many races being won (and lost) on the finish, Bramcote were leading at the halfway stage by just 2 points in front of City of Derby. After some more chopping and changing of positioning with City of Derby it was level-pegging after event 46, with only the cannon to go!

Not to be undone after a fantastic night of racing, the Bramcote cannon swimmers produced a convincing win meaning that we took FIRST place in the competition for the second year in a row!

All swimmers produced some really impressive times and any nerves by the newcomers to galas were quickly put aside in favour of Personal Bests and good placings. Well done to all swimmers for making the gala a very enjoyable night for all! Thanks also to the volunteers who assisted in the running of the gala. As ever, your help and support is invaluable!  Thanks also to Liberty Leisure for their sponsorship of this annual event.

Final Results:

1st – Bramcote (139)

2nd – City of Derby (138)

3rd – Kimberley (108)

4th – LL Swim School (75)
